Key Trends For Canada’s Charity & Nonprofit Sector

Whether you’re heavily involved in fundraising or simply an occasional donor, chances are the charitable sector has touched your life in some way. In fact, most of us don’t realize that many services we come into contact with every day in our hospitals, schools, and social programs, are provided by charities.

However, a new report indicates that Canadian charities are relying on an ever-decreasing proportion of the population for donations. Perhaps this trend is due to the fact that 61% of Canadians claimed they did not donate simply because the organization was not able to explain how their donation would be spent.

The current landscape, although challenging for many charities, also provides an exciting opportunity to adopt new methods and technologies in order to engage their supporters and provide transparency.

We’ve created the infographic below to provide more insight into this impactful sector.
